Everyone loves gourds! They have been grown for utilitarian and decorative purposes for centuries.  In this class we're going to have some fun decorating pre cut gourd bowls with color and beads and then twining and weaving a decorative top.  Students will learn how to locate the holes for weaving, stringing beads, determining a pattern and coloring it with markers, and twining the top with seagrass cordage and a variety of items of interest. No two projects will be the same.

All materials are included for a finished project.  Additional project packets will be available to purchase if you'd like to make more at home.

Instructor: TeriLu Adler, gourd artist.  TeriLu returned to her home town of Madison and is loving the welcoming and dynamic art community.  While living in Wisconsin, she co-founded the Wisconsin Gourd Society and has taught gourd art classes for many years.  Most recently she received an On Ramp Fellowship and Grant from the Indiana Art Commission and was recently accepted into membership of the Indiana Artisan organization.
